Dear Huntsville Arts Supporter, I would like to take a moment to introduce you to Huntsville's premier musical theater company, Independent Musical Productions, Inc. (IMP). IMP was formed to bring musical theater productions with a professional quality to the Tennessee Valley area and will begin its 14th season this fall. IMP strives to present acclaimed Broadway productions not normally seen in the area, of particular historical significance, or with outstanding and challenging musical scores. Our productions become a learning and growing experience for all involved from the seamstresses and set designers to the director and cast. It is my hope that you have seen one of IMP's productions and are familiar with the work we do. Previous productions you may be familiar with are Jekyll & Hyde, Sweeney Todd, Big River, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Ragtime, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods and many more. IMP's June 2007 show is The Secret Garden. This established theater group has won numerous awards for excellence, specifically Huntsville Arts Council Wings Organization Awards for Best Production of a Show with Music, seven times out of nine years of membership. The group's expertise has been expanded to include children's theater and arts workshops to educate young people and to encourage participation in the art of musical theater. IMP's mission is two-fold: (1) to bring quality musical theater to Huntsville and the surrounding area and (2) to bring live theater to children and adults. By preserving this rich form of entertainment for posterity IMP hopes to build future audiences and performers to help sustain it. IMP has a history of collaboration with community agencies and charities such as Family Services, Aids Action Coalition, Children's Advocacy Center, Second Mile Development and 100 Distinguished Black Men of Huntsville in providing theatrical experiences for young people and in fund-raising for these charitable organizations. In order for IMP to continue to bring such high quality performances to the Tennessee Valley, we need your help! IMP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which means all donations are completely tax deductible. We are asking you to consider becoming a member of IMP's 2007 Circle of 100, which is a group of individuals and company's that support IMP by making a $100 tax deductible donation to help fund our productions. All members of the Circle of 100 will be listed in the programs of our 2007 productions of The Secret Garden and A Year with Frog and Toad, as well as being listed on the IMP website. I want to thank you in advance for helping this extraordinary organization further its mission and keep the arts alive in the Tennessee Valley. Sincerely, Laura Dale Lee Make a donation to IMP! A donation of $100 or more will add your name to the Circle of 100 for this season. Since IMP is a 501(c)3 agency, all donations are 100% tax-deductible. If you make a donation of $250 or more, please provide a contact phone number on the PayPal page so that we may contact you to get your address for the donation letter that we are required by the IRS to send to you. You do not need a PayPal account to make a donation.
