Independent Musical Productions (IMPHuntsville) is proud to present the musical The Color Purple,
based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The script is written by Marsha Norman and, as in
the book and the movie, the musical movingly depicts the growing up and self-realization of Celie, who
overcomes oppression and abuse to find fulfillment and independence, as well as gender equality. The Color
